Baroque oboe making course in Cambridge

 

During an intense six day course you take part in the entire process of creating your own Baroque oboe in the style of Jacob Denner. pitched at 415 hz.

Course director  : Paul van der Linden, baroque oboeist and baroque oboe maker.

Instrument type :  The instrument made will be based on a Jacob Denner instrument pitched at 415hz that has been chosen for this course by Paul van der Linden.

Abilities : Suitable for adults and students over 16 years old: musicians, artisans and craftspeople. Some woodturning experience is desirable but not essential. Please contact us if you have had no practical woodworking experience at all before starting the course. It helps us plan the sessions.

The first upcoming course date is :  Wednesday 6th of August 2014

Time | 10.00am – 5.30pm (depending on progress made during each day, sometimes may run later in the evening).

Cost : £1250. This included prepared European Boxwood.

Location : The Champion Workshop at Stapleford Granary, Bury Road, Stapleford, Cambridge, CB22 5BP (England). Details of transport and location can be found in the Visitors Centre section.

Accommodation : If you are not local to Cambridge you will need to arrange your own accommodation for the duration of the course. We have listed some options in the Accommodation Section of our website.
