Deadline: 1 maart 2016

The International Young Artist’s Presentation (IYAP) is a coaching and presentation format for young talented musicians or ensembles playing historical instruments or taking on historical sources. We challenge musicians as well as ensembles to present an innovative and original programme. We encourage experimentation with presentation formats and creative approaches.
Concept
Coaching sessions – led by Peter Van Heyghen – are one of the most essential elements of the International Young Artist’s Presentation. We provide feedback on the concept and approach from very early on in the process, and later the artists receive musical coaching from international experts. After coaching, the ensembles perform at historical locations in Antwerp during the Laus Polyphoniae festival. Many Belgian and international organizers are present at these concerts and at the networking event that closes the IYAP.
The selected ensembles will be promoted by the IYAP organizers. They will be honoured with the title “IYAP Selected Promising Ensemble 2016”.
Festival Laus Polyphoniae
The International Young Artist’s Presentation is a part of the Laus Polyphoniae festival. We welcome proposals with a connection to the yearly festival theme, although this is not an obligatory requirement. The Laus Polyphoniae festival theme in 2016 is MORS. In the 14th century, Europe was ravaged by countless disasters and misfortune: the Battle of the Golden Spurs, the Hundred Years’ War and the plague epidemic claimed millions of lives. However the 14th century was also an extremely productive time in the arts. Laus Polyphoniae takes you on a ten-day exploration of the musical richness of the century of the Black Death.
