Dhr. Luk Lemmens, gedeputeerde voor Cultuur van de Provincie Antwerpen, en Ursula, hertogin d’Ursel, zullen op maandag 27 juni om 11 uur in kasteel d’Ursel in Hingene een unieke ontdekking voorstellen aan de internationale pers.

Onlangs werden in de bibliotheek van het kasteel vier partituren teruggevonden. Het gaat om vier autografische manuscripten van drie opera’s en een cantate die door specialisten als definitief verloren werden beschouwd.

De Italiaanse componist is een van de grote namen uit de operageschiedenis en zijn werk staat ook vandaag nog op het programma van vooraanstaande operahuizen. Tijdens de persvoorstelling zullen alvast drie aria’s en één duet voor het eerst in meer dan tweehonderd jaar worden uitgevoerd.

Het kasteel van Hingene was gedurende bijna vier eeuwen de favoriete zomerresidentie van de hertogelijke familie d’Ursel. Nu is het kasteel eigendom van de Provincie Antwerpen, die de oude glorie in ere herstelt en er nieuw leven brengt.

De bibliotheek werd in 2009 door de hertog in langdurige bruikleen gegeven aan de Provincie Antwerpen, samen met tientallen schilderijen, meubels en siervoorwerpen.

On Monday 27 June at 11am, at Castle d’Ursel in Hingene, Belgium, Luk Lemmens, responsible for culture within the Province of Antwerp, and Ursula, Duchess d’Ursel, will present a unique discovery to the international press..

Recently four scores were rediscovered in the castle’s library. The find consists of four autograph manuscripts of three operas and a cantata all of which had been considered by specialists to be definitively lost. The Italian composer is one of the great names in opera history and his work is still performed at major opera houses today. During the press conference three arias and one duet will be performed for the first time in more than two hundred years.

For nearly four centuries the castle of Hingene was the favourite summer residence of the ducal d’Ursel family. Now it is the property of the Province of Antwerp which is restoring it to its former glory and bringing it new life.

In 2009 the family library was, with some of the original furniture and paintings, placed by the Duke d’Ursel on long-term loan to the Province of Antwerp at the Castle.

Le lundi 27 juin 2016 à 11 heures, Luk Lemmens, député pour la Culture de la Province d’Anvers, et Ursula, duchesse d’Ursel, présenteront une unique découverte à la presse internationale au Château d’Ursel à Hingene (Belgique).

Récemment quatre partitions considérées comme perdues ont été retrouvées dans la bibliothèque du château. Il s’agit de quatre manuscrits autographes de trois opéras et une cantate qui par les spécialistes avaient été jugées définitivement perdues. Le compositeur italien est un des grands noms dans l’histoire de l’opéra et ses œuvres sont encore jouées dans les théâtres majeures jusqu’à présent. Lors de la conférence de presse trois arias et un duo seront exécutées pour la première fois en plus que 200 ans.

Pendant presque quatre siècles le Château d’Ursel était la maison de plaisance favorite de la famille ducale d’Ursel. Maintenant le château est la propriété de la Province d’Anvers qui lui a rendu son ancienne gloire et lui procure une nouvelle vie.

En 2009, le duc d’Ursel légués comme prêt de longue durée la bibliothèque, les portraits de famille et une partie du mobilier à la Province d’Anvers.
