On 19 April 2018, Jordi Savall will visit Gent to give a key-note speech at a conference organised by the Orpheus Institute. Many know his playing, but few are familiar with the person behind the music. Come and meet this fascinating pioneer of the early music movement as he talks about his Orpheus XXI project and his work with the integration of refugees.
The conference is entitled “Dissolving Borders: Musical Migration/Migratory Musicking” and interested observers are invited to arrive at the Orpheus Institute, Korte Meer 12, 9000 Gent, at 4pm for tea, coffee and refreshments. Mr Savall will speak at 4.30pm after which there will be a round-table discussion, with the chance to ask questions and discuss issues. The event will finish at 6.30pm.
