Ewald Demeyere studeerde aan het Koninklijk Muziekconservatorium Antwerpen, waar hij, naast eerste prijzen notenleer, geschreven en praktische harmonie, contrapunt en fuga, een meesterdiploma klavecimbel behaalde bij Jos van Immerseel. Onmiddellijk na zijn studies in 1997 werd hij docent harmonie, contrapunt en fuga aan het Koninklijk Muziekconservatorium Antwerpen. In 2002 volgde hij er Jos van Immerseel op als hoofddocent historisch klavecimbel en geeft les op het beroemde klavecimbel gebouwd door Joannes Daniel Dulcken in 1747 dat zich in het Museum Vleeshuis bevindt.In kamermuziekverband werkt hij onder andere samen met Barthold en Sigiswald Kuijken, en met Vinciane Baudhuin (Duo Capricornus). In juli 2004 was hij de festivalster van het Festival van Vlaanderen Musica Antiqua Brugge.Ewald Demeyere realiseerde een groot aantal radio- en televisie-opnames. Tot zijn CD-opnames als solist of kamermusicus behoren Tears (Challenge Classics), 18th-Century Flemish Harpsichord Music (opgenomen op Dulcken 1747; Challenge Classics), Pièces de Clavecin van Joseph-Hector Fiocco (ACCENT), J. S. Bach – The Young Virtuoso (ACCENT), Sonatas & Fugues van Wilhelm Friedemann Bach (ACCENT), Sonatas van Domenico Scarlatti (ACCENT), Eight Keyboard Sonatas van Thomas Augustine Arne (ACCENT), Flute Sonatas van Johann Sebastian Bach (met Barthold Kuijken; ACCENT), The Sonatas for Flute and B.C. van Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (met Barthold Kuijken; ACCENT) en Flute Sonatas by the Bach Sons (met Barthold Kuijken; ACCENT).In 2007 richtte hij het barokorkest Bach Concentus (www.bachconcentus.be) op dat regelmatig tournees verzorgt in België, Italië en Spanje. In januari 2010 kwam een nieuwe CD van Bach Concentus uit getiteld La Bouffonne, met vocaal en orkestraal werk van Georg Philipp Telemann geïnspireerd op de commedia dell’arte (met Dorothee Mields, sopraan). In april 2012 verscheen Symphonies by the Bach Sons, een opname die bekroond werd met de prestigieuze Choc Classica.In 2009 behaalde Ewald Demeyere de graad van Doctor in de Kunsten aan de universiteit van Antwerpen en de Artesis Hogeschool Antwerpen (Associatiefaculteit Kunsten) met het proefschrift A Contextual, Text-Critical Analysis of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Art of Fugue – Reflections on Performance Practice and Text-Critical Analysis, and the interaction between them. In 2013 werd zijn boek Johann Sebastian Bach’s Art of Fugue – Performance Practice based on German Eighteenth-Century Theory uitgegeven door Universitaire Pers Leuven. Eveneens in 2013 was hij jurylid voor de internationale klavecimbelwedstrijd Paola Bernardi in Bologna.

Ewald Demeyere studied at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen, where, besides winning first prizes in solfège, written and practical harmony, counterpoint and fugue, he obtained his master’s degree for harpsichord in Jos van Immerseel’s class.
